Truc Lam Temple is a Zen Buddhist temple outside the resort town of Dalat city in Vietnam. Next to the beautiful Tuyen Lam lake, the temple attracts so many people from Vietnam to other countries. Truc Lam temple is built in 1993 and opened a year after on a plot of land encompassing 24 hectares. There are only 2 hectares that are occupied by buildings divided into two areas, the domestic areas and public areas. The domestic area is closed to the public and it is divided into quarters for monks and nuns respectively. Each domestic quarters has two meeting rooms for sangha, a meditation hall, a kitchen, dining room and a shed. Currently, there are approximately 50 monks and 50 nuns in religious practice at the temple. Out to the public area, it is very spacious and is about 1300m above sea level, overlooking mountain and the lake. Truc Lam temple opens free from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday. There is option to stay over night or practice in the temple if you would like the full experience. You can visit the temple via different routes such as motorbikes, cars, or you can take the cable ride. With the cool weather in Dalat city, you will not want to miss the experience to visit Truc Lam temple, it will definitely sooth your mind and soul.
