Ngoc Hoang pagoda in Saigon

Ngoc Hoang pagoda in Saigon, is translated as Jade Emperor pagoda, was built by the Chinese community around 1890 to 1900. Also known as Phuoc Hai pagoda from 1984, this is a Taoist pagoda located at 73 Mai Thi Luu street, District 1, Saigon, Vietnam. The pagoda is famous for the people who wish to have a child. Every lunar new year, people who have been trying to have a child but there is no result, they would come here to pray the ancient midwives to grant it for them. Ngoc Hoang pagoda attracts many tourists and has approved to be the national architecture art. Since the Jade Emperor is known as the God in Chinese culture, there are many documents and decorations showing all the other Gods bow down to Him. It is quite crowded during Lunar New Year, everyone comes to wish the best for their families and especially having a child. U.S. President Barack Obama paid a visit to the pagoda during his state trip to Vietnam on May 22, 2016.
