Tam Thai pagoda

Tam Thai pagoda is built on one of Marble Mountains 13km from center of Danang city. Marble Mountains, aka Ngu Hanh Son, is a cluster of five marble and limestone hills located in Ngu Hanh Son district, south of the city. The five mountains are named after the five elements, metal, water, wood, fire and earth. On the west side of the water mountain, there are 156 stone steps leading to Tam Thai pagoda. From the pagoda, you can walk through the mountains to other caves and temples. Tam Thai pagoda was built in 1630, but it was completely destroyed years later. In 1825, the Emperor Minh Mang, reign from 1820 to 1839, has ordered to rebuild it and practice Buddhism. Tam Thai pagoda is designed with 3 stories, the first story faces North, the second faces the South and the top story faces East. This is the structure following Chinese character, King, with highly amazing arts. This place is the attraction to many visitors and Buddha followers everyday and it was recognized as historical and cultural sight of national treasure.
