Dien Tho: The Wooden Statue Pagoda

Introduction

Dien Tho Pagoda is located in Lam Thuy village, Hai Tho commune, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province, 4 kilometers from Dien Sanh junction and approximately 30 kilometers east of Dong Ha city. The temple, which belongs to the Northern Tong Buddhist sect, was built in the late Le period and was renovated several times during the Nguyen dynasty in the mid-18th century. As a witness to the history of horns throughout the years of Dien Tho, the Pagoda has preserved many wooden statues and is associated with the Nguyen dynasty’s ordainments. The pagoda’s architecture and potential value

 

The pagoda is about 5000m2 in size, with a main gate on the west side. The pagoda is surrounded by beautiful rustic countryside scenery, including paddy fields, lotus lakes, and lush forest. The Tam Quan Gate, the Forecourt, Guanyin, The Sangha House, and the Buddhist Great Hall are the five sections of the temple. The columns, like the main hall, forecourt, and beam system, are powerful and beautifully built.

Dien Tho pagoda has not only spiritual value but also physical value, bringing the spiritual beauty of the country’s history with five decorations during the Nguyen Dynasty. Sarced Dequan Quoc Ty Dan Household Appreciation was released on April 16, Tu Duc 7th, year, 1854. Sarced Dequan was awarded by the Dam An Decree on November 24, the 33rd year of Tu Duc, in gratitude for preserving us from extinction and ensuring our safety and integrity in the name of Huangchi’s God (1880). The Dequan Trung Hung Guard Emperor Appreciation, issued on July 1st, 1887, the second year of Don Cain’s reign, the Holy Spirit Emperor, Bao An Truong Truong Huu Thien Don, halted the Project Bao Trung Hung Thanh Hoang Chi God, was granted according to the Dam An ritual, issued on August 11, 1909, the “Guard Emperor Appreciation,” also published on July 25th, Khai Dinh 9th.
