Where is Hoang Phuc Pagoda?

Hoang Phuc Pagoda (they are also called as Kinh Thien Pagoda and Quan Pagoda). With a history of more than 711 years, it is known as the oldest temple in the central region and has been preached by the Buddha, who preached the teachings right at the temple. It is located in Thuan Trach village, My Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province, and 4 km south of the center of Le Thuy District. As a result, Hoc Phuc Pagoda contains both historical and holy components that pilgrims, tourists, and Buddhists seek. This will be an expensive destination to visit if you get the opportunity to explore tourism in this windy area of white sand.

History

In 1301, Emperor Tran Nhan Tong came here to bless the people. At the time, the temple was known as Am Tri Kien. In 1716, Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu renamed the shrine “Kinh Thien Tu.” During a tour to the north in 1821, King Minh Mang altered the temple’s name to Hoang Phuc Tu, the name of Tram or Quan Pagoda, and that name has stuck to the temple to this day.

Over time, the temple was harmed by the events of the war, and it eventually fell due to Typhoon No. 12 in 1985. The temple was not repaired until November 30th, 2014, by the People’s Committee of Le Thuy commune, worshiped in the main direction, and kept the status quo of the ancient Tran dynasty. The temple was launched on January 16, 2016, on the occasion of the significant and solemn day when the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism gave the temple the Certificate of National Monument of Vietnam.

The architecture

Restored on an approximately 10,000m2 plot of land in the style of the Tran dynasty’s historic pagoda, consisting of three bonded officials, internal triads, a Buddha tower, and Three Jewels. The temple still has a variety of relics, including a muzzle, a bronze bell weighing 80kg, 1.1m high, 0.5m in diameter with dangling ears engraved with two jade-mouthed dragons, and various intricate designs, Buddha statues, incense, lamp bottoms, vases, and lotus constructions. In addition, the temple features additional remarkable architectural works, such as two 9-story Buddha towers on both sides of the Three Gems’ front yard, the temple of Guan Yin Bodhisattva in the water, and the ancient well in the temple yard… The history of Hoc Phuc Pagoda is also the pride and spirit of the people of Quang Binh, conveying not only the value of culture and spirituality but also the pride and spirit of the people of Quang Binh.
